On January 1st, 2023, the final panel was installed on the rooftop of PLANT 1, marking the completion of the 1st phase of ASE Malaysia’s solar energy ambition. A total of 2,216 panels have been installed in the project that was kicked off on September 27th, 2022.
In an effort to develop a sustainable environment, the solar panels will produce an annual output of up to 1,890,360 kWh, equivalent to a carbon footprint reduction of 1,415 tons of CO2 a year.
ASEM remains committed to reducing carbon footprint in its development plans with 2 more new plants in the construction pipeline, which when completed - expected 2025 - will boast integrated solar and green technology.
