ASE Malaysia in CLOUD 9

On 18 November 2022, Lim E-Ling (ASEM’s Industrial Engineering Senior Manager) summited 4,380 meters after a 108 kilometer trek ending at the Holy Gosaikunda Lake in the Himalayas.

The lake, located some 150 kilometers west of Mount Everest, is known as a religious site with thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visiting the area every year. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. Its waters are considered holy and of particular significance during the Janai Purnima festival in August. According to spiritual beliefs, people who bathe in the lake would be cleansed of sins, pain and grief.

Starting the trek at 1,400 meters, E-Ling covered a distance of 108 kilometers over 9 days, stopping at different small villages before finally reaching Gosaikunda to wave the ASE flag.
